Favorite Romance Novels

Linda Lael Miller is an excellent romance writer. She specializes in Western romance, but I love her time traveler book Pirates. Phoebe Turlow goes back in time to find her true love. This book will melt even the hardest of hearts. 



Connie Mason has a gift for writing steamy romances. This romance novel is for mature adults who like all the intimate details.

    Hello Jennifer,

    Your romance picks have me quite intrigued! I'm also a fan of the genre, and with all my time spent in libraries (personally and professionally), I totally recognize Linda Lael Miller's name; however, I'm embarrassed to admit that I still haven't read any of her works.... Would you recommend Pirates as a good entry title of hers, or another title?

    Connie Mason doesn't immediately ring any bells for me as far as recognition, but goodness, that cover says it all, doesn't it?!? Yes, please! lol

  My neighbor Jolene hosts a monthly book club meeting for the ladies in our neighborhood. When I told her I needed to find a book club for this assignment she invited me to her Thursday night meeting. This month’s pick is Killing Floor by Lee Child. The book was first published in 1997. I asked her why she chose an old book from the late nineties. Jolene explained that the group loved mysteries. Also, this book series was made into a tv show on Prime +. The group likes to read tv series books, then watch the show and compare. Luckily, I read this book a long time ago, so I was already prepared for the meeting.                 A total of seven ladies showed up, myself included. Reading Profile

 I like to read just about anything. If I had to pick a genre, I would say that mystery is my favorite. In the book Reader Advisory's Guide to Genre, quite a few mystery books also can be described as Adrenaline books. To quote: "Adrenaline describes fast-paced novels designed to quickly capture and sustain reader interest through action filled plots and tense atmospheres." (pg. 3). I agree with this description. My favorite books by Janet Evanovich are her Stephanie Plum novels. The plot moves very fast and they are the type of books that keep me up at night instead of going to sleep.  I also like to read romance novels. Happy endings are my favorite. For a little extra spice, Connie Mason books describe intimate details very clearly. Nora Roberts can get a little spicy too. I've started reading Lucy Score books recently as they are free on Kindle Unlimited. She isn't as graphic with intimate details as the others, but her books have interesting plots just the sa

  Secret Shopper                 My husband had an unexpected two-hour lunch break on his Saturday shift, so he asked me to come over and visit him. The public library is just down the road from his work, so I suggested we visit to do this secret shopper assignment. His favorite author is Sarah Maas. She is a young adult sci-fiction genre writer. He has been complaining recently that he can’t find anything else to read that interests him. He did not like any of my suggestions, so I thought he would be the perfect guinea pig for this assignment.                 We approach the front desk, and the library staff member greets us.
